Work At Height for Ground Workers
Course Overview
Working at height or on steep, uneven, or challenging terrain is a common aspect of groundworks and countryside management. However, these activities present significant risks if they are not properly planned and carried out using safe working practices.
The Working at Height for Groundworkers course equips delegates with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to work safely when using access equipment, working near excavation edges, or undertaking tasks in other elevated or high-risk environments. The course covers legal responsibilities, hazard identification, risk assessment, the selection of suitable work equipment, and the implementation of safe systems of work in accordance with current legislation and industry best practice.
Delegates will gain an understanding of the principles of safe working at height, including when a suitable level of competence must be demonstrated before undertaking higher-risk activities or using specialist access equipment. The course also reinforces the importance of recognising personal limitations and only carrying out work when appropriately trained, competent, assessed, and authorised to do so.
