Course Overview
The Rope Safety & Rigging for Film Production course is designed to provide film crews, technicians, and production staff with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to work safely with rope systems on set. It is suitable for riggers, camera operators, stunt teams, and production personnel involved in the installation or use of suspended equipment or personnel during filming.
Over the 3 days participants will learn the principles of safe rigging practice, load assessment, anchor selection, and system construction for film and media environments.
The course covers the correct use of ropes, equipment, and rigging components, along with safe working procedures for lifting, suspending, and securing equipment. Emphasis is placed on risk awareness, communication, and ensuring safe systems of work are maintained in dynamic production environments.
Practical exercises allow learners to develop confidence in building and inspecting basic rope systems commonly used in film production settings.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to apply safe rigging principles to support production requirements while maintaining compliance with industry safety standards.
