Rope Rescue Supervisor
Course Overview
Building on the foundations of Rope Rescue Operator level competence, this course uses a structured, progressive “building block” approach. Participants begin by consolidating core principles before advancing through increasingly complex techniques, ultimately working towards the design, rigging, and operation of full rope systems for raising, lowering, and highline-based rescues.
Throughout the course, candidates will develop a deeper understanding of system selection, mechanical advantage, load management, edge protection, and problem-solving in operational scenarios.
Emphasis is placed on safe system construction, effective team communication, and adapting techniques to suit changing environments and incident dynamics. By the end of the course, participants will be able to contribute to and support the operation of advanced rope systems as part of a coordinated rescue team, working with confidence in more technical and demanding situations.
Entry to this course requires candidates to have successfully completed the Rope Rescue Operator (RRO) course and to remain current in that qualification.
